There’s only one spot that remains open for the inaugural season of the Clash of Clans World Championship.
The August qualifier is this week, and eight teams will be taking part in the event and, as as the online publication Dot Esports notes, the qualifier will decide who gets the final berth.
“The qualifier event will be held at Katowice, Poland, and eight teams will get their shot at qualifying for the world championship,” reveals the online publication.
The competing teams
Here are the competing teams.
- DK 2nd Brigade
- Golden X
- Papys Warriors
- AD Air Force
It’s also worth noting that of these eight teams, the first four that are qualified via the ESL Play Single Elimination bracket and the other four have been selected straight from the in-game clan war league.
Indian Clashers is qualified for the tournament in Poland but it is not able to make it due to some problems involving the visa, says the same online magazine mentioned above.
“The qualifier will be played across three days between Aug. 30 and Sept. 1. The first two days will consist of group stage matches, and the finals will be held on Sept. 1,” they note.
Qualifying for the playoffs
The eight teams will be divided into two groups, and they will be playing best-of-one matches in a round-robin system.
The best two teams from each group will be qualified for the playoffs.
