How to play PC video games on your chromebook, including Fortnite

Chromebook users can now play titles available on PC devices, including Fortnite, via the GeForce Now cloud platform.

Those interested should go to play.geforcenow.com, and there follow the instructions. The minimum technical features for chromebooks are: Intel Core M3 processor, Intel HD graphics 600 graphics and 4 GB of RAM.

For the best experience, it is recommended that users use a mouse. Available games – over 650 titles – include Fortnite, CreedFall and World of Tanks.

The Fortnite experience depends on the speed of the internet

The advantage of using GeForce Now is that the game settings can be set to a high level even if the user uses a high-end chromebook like the Dell Latitude 7410 Chromebook Enterprise or one with weaker features such as Lenovo IdeaPad Duet. However, for the experience to be a pleasant one, high-speed internet access is needed (at least 25 Mbps for 1,080p quality at 60fps).

GeForce Now is free, but Founders ($ 4.99 / month) and Special Offer ($ 24.95 / six months; Discounted Founders) are available.

The free account only allows 60-minute sessions, as opposed to six hours for Founders. After the time expires, non-paying gamers have to wait in line again to enter a session.

Steam users will soon be able, like PC users, to sync games from that library to GeForce Now via the Steam Game Sync service.
