Top smartphone models that best retain their value over time

Research by US second-hand phone retailer SellCell shows which models have lost the most value in the last two years.

For example, the value of the iPhone XR has decreased by 53.2% since the launch of the model in 2018. If you think a lot, then you should know that the LG V40 ThinQ has lost 79.10% of its value.Apple and Samsung dominate the used smartphone market
The most traded Apple model in 2020 in the SelCell store was the iPhone 7. In the Android segment, the most popular phone was the Samsung Galaxy S10 + (fifth place in the overall top).

The top 10 is dominated by Apple phones. Along with the S10 +, only the Galaxy S9 model appears, on the last position. It should be noted, however, that in the US the iPhone is the most popular smartphone, with a quarterly market share that has never fallen below 39%.

That the Apple and Samsung models keep their value better is also indicated by the fact that the Romanian SellCell equivalent, Flip.ro, only sells terminals from the two brands. Among the most popular models in this store are Samsung Galaxy S9, iPhone 7, iPhone 8, iPhone X and Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017)
