It’s true that India has a large fanbase for Nokia ever since the Finnish company started making feature phones. But, the initial announcement stating that Nokia Android smartphones would be available exclusively in China, left many Indians to feel disheartened. The HMD Global has, however, changed their minds and is launching the Nokia-branded Android smartphones, namely, Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3, in the Indian markets on June 13th.
HMD Global is hosting a special event on June 13 in India. The company has already sent out press invites asking to “Save the date” for June 13th. According to Gadgets360, this could be the launch for the Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 smartphones, although the company has not specified which phone will be launched at the event.
All the three Nokia smartphones turned out to be very successful in China, selling out millions of units and receiving a customer satisfaction level of whopping 97 percent. The company has further impressed the customers, promising the Android O update when it becomes available.
Nokia 6: Nokia 6 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The phone also provides provision to expand storage up to 256GB via microSD slot. On the camera front, the device is equipped with a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP selfie camera. Nokia 6 is the most premium of the three, sporting a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display, dual amplified speaker, and 3000 mAh battery.
Nokia 5: Priced lower than Nokia 6, the Nokia 5 comes with a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display along with a 13MP/8MP camera combo. Besides that, the smartphone runs on octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor and 2GB RAM. With an internal storage of 16GB which can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD slot, this dual SIM phone is backed by a 3000 mAh battery.
Nokia 3: Nokia 3 is the cheapest among the three phones. It packs a 5-inch IPS LCD display and a 2650 mAh battery. It is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor along with 2 gigs of RAM. Other specs include 8MP front and rear facing cameras, 16GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD slot.
