Xiaomi has officially announced their flagship smartphone, Mi 6, at an event in Beijing. The smartphone comes with high-end specifications, a beautiful design, and a low price tag, that puts the overpriced Galaxy S8 and iPhone 7 to shame by default.
Although the design and screen size (5.5-inch) resembles Mi 5, a lot, the Mi 6 features curved edges that Xiaomi said are made possible through its use of “four-sided 3D glass”, and a plethora of high-end specifications that we’ve seen only in a premium device like Samsung Galaxy S8. Under the hood, the smartphone packs Snapdragon 835 chipset, the flagship chipset of Qualcomm. Other specifications include 6GB RAM, 12MP dual rear cameras with optical zoom and an 8MP selfie camera.
Talking about the rear camera, Xiaomi has copied what Apple has done with the iPhone 7 Plus, by mixing the wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens. Besides, the smartphone includes a bokeh-style photography option, alongside 10x digital zoom, 2x lossless zoom, and optical image stabilization (OIS) technology. On the software front, the device run Android v7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.
The best part about the device is its pricing. Although it features all the premium specifications, the Mi 6 only costs about half the price of Galaxy S8.
Price of Mi 6:
- 6GB + 64GB at 2499 RMB (US – $360, India – Rs 23,436)
