Apple is preparing a presentation event or at least a few individual launches for March, but market information suggests that it will take a while until we see the new MacBook Pro computers. However, news reaching the Internet unofficially suggests that it will address some of the biggest problems that current users have reported over time, such as the lack of connectivity ports.
New MacBook Pro models with 14 and 16 ″ screens could bring back more ports than the 2015 versions
Ming-Chi Kuo, a Taiwanese analyst at TF International Securities, now reports that Apple will launch new MacBook Pro models in the second half of 2021. It would be a move similar to the one in the fall of 2020, when the company introduced a new 13 ”MacBook Pro and a new MacBook Air, both equipped with the M1 processor, on ARM architecture.
While the recently launched variants used the same exterior design and many of the older components, such as screen, keyboard and familiar chassis, the new models will have different shapes and will integrate other new elements. As we learned a month ago, Kuo says that the new MacBook Pro models will benefit from 14 ”and 16” screens and will bring back two important ports: an HDMI port for attaching external screens or projectors, as and an SD card reader.
On MacBook Pro models from 2016 to the present, Apple only offers USB Type-C ports and expects every customer to buy a multifunction adapter or multiple adapters for what they need to connect. But regular users of pre-2016 MacBook Pro models have asked for these ports back, and Apple seems to only now, after almost 5 years, hear the criticism.
Earlier rumors also talked about replacing the current keyboard with a standard one, without the Touch Bar touch screen, as well as returning to the MagSafe magnetic charging standard, which allows the cable to be quickly detached to avoid accidents.
