Oppo Reno6 looks a lot like the iPhone 12

The Oppo Reno6 series of mid-range smartphones already has a launch date set for May 27, but until then we have the first high-quality images with the new phones, which have been released on the internet. Surprisingly, however, one of the models is different from the other two, adopting a familiar design, similar to that of the iPhone 12 series.

Oppo borrowed the “flat” design from the iPhone 12 range

Evan Blass posted on his Twitter account the first images with the new Oppo Reno6 models. It is a trio of devices that include the Oppo Reno6 5G, Oppo Reno 6 Pro 5G and, last but not least, Oppo Reno6 Pro Plus 5G. While the Pro models are equipped with curved screens and 2.5D glass covers on the back, the “standard” model seems to be rather extracted from Apple’s portfolio.

It is built using two flat glass panels, without curvature at the edge, which are installed on a metal frame with straight edges and rounded corners, just like the devices in the iPhone 12 series. However, the camera module is different from Apple. rather similar to that used by Oppo on past Reno devices: framed vertically in a rectangle.

Not much is known about the internal hardware of these devices, but they will most likely use 700 series Snapdragon chipsets, and will benefit from 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage, depending on previous releases, as and online listings on store websites in China. Oppo phones are usually launched first in China and only then in the rest of the world, with a delay of a few weeks or even months.

Thus, we expect to see the Oppo Reno6 series in Romania only in mid-summer, if not in early autumn.
